Hello It’s Zimmerbaby. I decided to open my eyes this week.  So far I felt more comfortable keeping them shut.  But I thought it might be fun to see what things look like in my cave.  For the most part it is dark.  But I can definitely see some light shining in from time to time.  I wonder where it comes from? Perhaps the walls just glow.

Baby Room Dresser

We put our dresser together this weekend. I actually helped with this one. It took about 2 hours. Plato helped too! He chewed on the dowel rods, walked all over the directions and fell asleep on the screws. We’re pretty happy with the way it turned out. The room is really coming together. We just need a chair and some decorations.

Hi Everyone! It’s your favorite Zimmerbaby! The strangest thing started happening this week. So I’ll be sleeping or just hanging out when all of the sudden my whole body jumps. It seems to be coming from my chest. And then, a few seconds later, it will jump again. It will happen over and over again every couple of seconds. Eventually, the jumping just stops and goes away. But then when I least expect it, the process starts all over again. The jumping doesn’t hurt but it is quite startling. It kind of sounds like a “Hic, Hic, Hic”. Weird huh?

Family Weekend

Aaron’s mom Janet came into town this weekend to go to the dance competition and to visit with Zimmerbaby. While her visit was short I think the two had some good bonding time. Zimmerbaby even busted out a few kicks for her on Saturday. She also brought with her tons of baby stuff left over from the holidays that we couldn’t fit in the car. The baby’s closet is jam-packed and we haven’t even had a shower yet.

Go Jackets!

Aaron’s sister Rachael had a dance competition this weekend at Benedictine College.  The Graceland Gadets were awesome and placed 3rd out of 7 in the small dance category.  I busted out the vintage Gadets 2002-2003 t-shirt for the occasion.  I love that Rachael is a Gadet and that we get to share our love for dance.  It is fun to see them wearing warm up jackets that I ordered back in the day.  But I have to say the best part was watching the girls stand in a circle, right legs pointed to center, pinkies locked and passing the thumb kiss.  This tradition may sound a little strange but my fellow Gadets should appreciate the reference.   Go Jackets!

Here we are at the end of 26 weeks. This is what I like to call the “weekend look”. The baby is moving like crazy and i’m having lots of Braxton Hicks contractions. I continue to get lots of comments, mostlly from co-workers about the size of my stomach. “Are you sure there’s only one in there?” “You look really big for 26 weeks.” But then other mama’s tell me I look normal. I’m measuring right on schedule as of my last prenatal but my best frame of reference is my birth class. We are the youngest (due the latest) out of all 8 couples, so I get to watch all of their bellies grow. I figure as long as I am the smallest in the group things must be ok.

Hi folks, Zimmerbaby again.  Noises are becoming clearer this week.  I’m starting to recognize voices.  Before I just heard a lot of jumble but now clear patterns and voice structures are starting to emerge.  There is one particularly deep voice that I hear on a regular basis.  I kind of like this voice and look forward to hearing it.
