21 week belly pic

Here we are at 21 weeks.  I’ve been getting comments at work all week about how it looks like I swallowed a pumpkin overnight.  So I guess i’m getting bigger.  It is hard to tell a difference from day to day for me.  I’ve decided to change it up and add a bare belly shot this week.  I’ve held off until now partially because of modesty but mostly because pregnant tummies aren’t very pretty to look at until they are much bigger.  In the beginning they just look fat. Seriously.  So now that things are rounding out nicely, I figured, why not!  If this is too much for you, don’t scroll down.

And here’s the front shot.

Here we are at 20 weeks. The big halfway point.  The belly is crazy big.  I’ve started to notice that it is more difficult to get up from a sitting position.  My boss made fun of me today (in a nice way) for getting up out of a chair like a pregnant woman.   I find it helps to make a small grunting noise when rising.  I’m not sure where my stomach muscles went but they don’t seem to be working as well as they once did.

Here we are at 19 weeks!  The baby is moving and kicking like crazy. Up until this point it has still only felt like a tickle.  Early Christmas morning, the dog woke both of us up at 4am.  I laid there for a while trying to sleep when all of the sudden I felt some serious kicking!  I grabbed Aaron’s hand and he was able to feel the baby move for the first time.  It was a great Christmas present.

And here is the belly at 18 weeks.  I’ve been able to  wear my longer non-pregnancy shirts for most of the pregnancy so far but several of them are not cutting it any more.  I’m able to wear some of my maternity shirts now even though there still a bit roomy.  Maternity pants however are a must!

The belly continues to grow bigger this week.  We had our monthly appointment on Monday and so far everything looks good.  We heard the baby’s heartbeat and heard it kick a few times.  It really likes to kick.  More on that later… The doctor said the baby is growing well.  We are looking forward to our 20 week ultra sound on December 29th.

Hurray!  The day has finally come!  I officially look pregnant. At least I think I do.  For those who have never been through this experience you won’t understand why this is so exciting.  But to all the moms out there, I know you will appreciate  it.  I can’t tell you how many comments I got on Monday at work about the size of my belly.  It was so cool!  I swear it doubled in size from Sunday to Monday.  I’m so excited to feel the baby move.  It hasn’t happened yet and I know it is still early but I’ve read flutters can be felt as early at 16 weeks though for first timers it is usually more like 20 weeks.  Grrrr I am so impatient!

14 week belly pic

Hi this is Katy.  Here is the latest shot of the belly at 14 weeks.  It’s amazing how quickly it is growing.  I am still squeezing into the regular clothes with the help of a Bella Band (thank goodness for whoever invented those!).   However it is seriously time to shop for maternity clothes.  I’m looking forward to shopping in Ohio next week.
