Aaron’s 28th Birthday

For Aaron’s birthday Elijah helped me make a gluten free cherry pie. (He actually prefers pie to cake, which is a nice change).

For his birthday we got him a bike trailer so he and Elijah can go on bike rides together.  Looking fashionably safe in their helmets.

Off we go…

It took a few tries for him to get used to it but now he loves going on bike rides with daddy.

Selle Family Reunion

The weekend after graduation we all headed to Camp Quarry Ledge in Oswego, IL for the Selle Family Reunion (Aaron’s mom’s side).  About 50 people attended and we all had a blast.  Below Elijah points out something interesting to Uncle Jack.

We celebrated two birthdays. Janice Henrickson, the oldest, who turned 80 and Andrew Selle, the youngest, who turned 1. I made the cake on the left. 🙂

Elijah’s 2nd Birthday Party

We had Elijah’s 2nd birthday party in our new house this year. He loves trains so of course we went with a train theme. Below we are opening a few pre-party gifts so the kids could all play with train sets.

Elijah also loves airplanes, so we got him an airplane fork at MOMA. He loves eating with it.

Elijah is always trying to play with Aaron’s tools so we got him his own toolset. Jackson and Elijah has a blast checking them out.

Jack’s Birthday Party

The Saturday of Easter weekend we went to the All Aboard Cafe to celebrate his cousin Jack’s 3rd birthday.  It is a brilliant concept, a whole restaurant about trains! All of the kids sit at the counter and a little train drives around and brings them their food. Elijah was fascinated! He actually sat in this chair all by himself.

Megan’s Birthday

We celebrated Megan Selle’s birthday in March.  Aaron’s second cousin Aaron and his wife Megan have two boys. The oldest Jack below loves Thomas too! He has just about every Thomas train character you can imagine.  Elijah had a blast and Jack was great at sharing his toys. I didn’t seem to get a photo of their youngest, Andrew.

This is the cake I made for Megan, red velvet. Mmmm  Jack thought these were green worms on the cake and thereafter referred to it as “the cake with worms”. So cute!

My 30th Birthday in BG

Now that we are in Chicago we are only 4 hours away from BG. So we visit a lot.  We decided to go in September for my birthday and the annual Black Swamp Festival.  Here I am blowing out all 30 candles on my very own birthday cake, made by Janet.

He loves guitars, especially when daddy plays.  He was very exited to find one his own size.

I swear we dress him in more than Michigan and Chiefs clothes.  He just wears them on weekends a lot and that’s when we tend to take the most pictures.

Aaron’s Birthday

For Aaron’s birthday he specifically told me not to waste my time on a special cake for him but I was bound and determined to remake the light saber cake that started make adventures in cake decorating.  So this was a very, very fast attempt but it still beats the light saber of a few years ago.  (About the candles, all I could find in the house was a 2 so we improvised.)

This was the original.  Trust me it looked really bad up close.
