31 week belly pic

Here is the big ole belly at 31 weeks. It’s hard to believe I’m heading into the growth spurt. From the looks of me, I’ve already had one. I’m not sure where else things are going to go. You can really see the dark line on my tummy in this weeks pic. I wonder why my body decided to draw a curvy line instead of a straight one. It’s like someone was drawing with a pencil and then sneezed and continued on.  I’m having a hard time accepting that I still have two months to go. It just seems like it should be sooner. Perhaps it is because I have several friends who are due sooner. And my entire birth class is having babies now. I know, I know it will be here before I know it. Humph.

Here’s the belly at 29 weeks.  I’m still feeling good generally.  My stomach is quite large and simple things such as putting on socks and tying shoes have become increasingly more difficult.  Rolling over and getting up from the sofa require an enormous effort.  It’s funny how i’ve always taken for granted how easy it is to sit up and roll over.  I look forward to the day I can do them again with ease.

26 week belly pic

Here we are at the end of 26 weeks. This is what I like to call the “weekend look”. The baby is moving like crazy and i’m having lots of Braxton Hicks contractions. I continue to get lots of comments, mostlly from co-workers about the size of my stomach. “Are you sure there’s only one in there?” “You look really big for 26 weeks.” But then other mama’s tell me I look normal. I’m measuring right on schedule as of my last prenatal but my best frame of reference is my birth class. We are the youngest (due the latest) out of all 8 couples, so I get to watch all of their bellies grow. I figure as long as I am the smallest in the group things must be ok.

Here is the belly at 23 weeks. This post is a bit late as we are technically now into the 24 week but whatever. I’m starting to be able to sense the baby’s position a bit more now. I can feel definite harder spots around my stomach. I just can’t tell what I’m feeling. Could be a head, a butt, a foot, who knows! I know I say this a lot, but, I continue to be shocked each week at the amount this little one moves. It is kicking harder and more frequently all the time. I am definitely enjoying this stage of pregnancy.

Here’s the belly at 22 weeks.  A new development this week, a very faint dark line is starting to appear down the center of the bump.  I’ve read that some women get it but I thought it would have appeared by now.  I guess not.  You can’t really see it from this picture but i’m guessing in the next few weeks it will get darker.  Stay tuned.
