I’m diggin the cooler weather because I get to dress Elijah in fun fall gear. I didn’t realize how stinkin cute babies are in hoodie sweatshirts.

Elijah likes to sit in the corner of the sofa so he can see around the room.   The other day he fell asleep while sitting in his favorite position. It was adorable.  BTW, how cute are those jeans!!?!

Monday was my first official day back in the office and Elijah’s first day at daycare.  Leaving Elijah is never easy.  Leaving him with strangers was very difficult.  After going over all my instructions and making sure they were all set, I hugged him and kissed him for the 100th time and forced myself to just turn and walk away.  I didn’t want him to see me so upset.  With the help of great advice from friends, a supportive husband, a patient mother, an empathetic boss and a lot of kleenex, I made it through the day.  Elijah seemed to be completely content at day care, it’s me who will have to get used to it.  Here are some pictures from our first day.

The majority of the photos of Elijah have been taken with my new Palm Pre phone lately.  I’m always trying to catch him looking cute to send to Aaron or the Grandmothers.

Here we are enjoying the Bumbo chair.  He really likes it because he can sit up and look around.  He is usually not happy unless he is in an upright position so that he has full view of everything going on in the room.

This one was right after he rolled over for the first time!  Out of nowhere he flipped from his tummy to his back.  He is really close to rolling over from back to tummy.  Amazing!

More Bumbo time!

Diggin the nice cold teether ring.  He is getting better and better had reaching and holding on to things. It’s so cute.

Sadly today is my last day of maternity leave. I’ve been working part-time from home for over two months now. But today it officially ends. Monday, I will take Elijah to day care for the first time. I am looking forward to being in the office again among adults. I really do enjoy my job. But being away from him for an entire day…it will be so hard. I am grateful that I was able to stay home with him this long, I just wish it could be forever.   Monday will be a sad day. 🙁

We planted an Elijah tree this week in my parents back yard.  Below Aaron is digging up the tree to replant in the new location.

Grandma Janet (Aaron’s Mom) was in KC this week so we threw her a surprise birthday party.  She turns 50 this month.

Happy 50th Birthday Grandma Janet!!!

Elijah is becoming more fun each day. Here are a few things he’s doing.

• He smiles all the time and has started to add a little laugh in every once in a while.
• His favorite song is “Head and Shoulders” because it involves touching his face, he loves to have his head and face touched.
• He loves to be naked and smiles when we take his diaper off.
• He LOVES bath time and grins and coos through the whole thing, at least until we take him out and he is cold.
• He really likes his pacifier but is not very good at holding on to it by himself.
• He has discovered his hands recently and enjoys sucking on them.
• His favorite things to stare at are ceiling fans, the boppy pillow cover and grandma Rene’s glasses.
• He loves sitting upright so he can look around the room.
• He enjoys laying on his play mat staring up at the star pillow. Who knew a blinking, singing, primary colored, star-shaped pillow could be so interesting.
• He also likes his new swing.  It swings front to back and side to side.  It’s like laying in a cloud.  I kind of wish they made an adult version.
